After a week-and-a-half of heavy-handed intervention, William Reed’s Ordinary has officially joined the 21st century with modern, efficient heating and cooling systems. There are a few odds and ends for the HVAC contractor to finish up, and a county inspection to pass, but warm air is flowing from the floor vents as I write this. Stay tuned for a detailed recounting of how we integrated central air into a house that was built more than 150 years before it became commonplace…
The Ordinary House 
Happy for you. Each time I drive past your house lately I’d smile, knowing you and yours would be warm soon. Poor Louis must have worn a sweater during these cold days. BTW – Don’t you think we are due for a new picture of the pup?
Yes, Louis has a stylish fleece jacket that has pulled him through many cold mornings. Now, he just parks himself in front of one of the new air vents! I’ll post a new photo soon.

also, i think meg is quite deserving of her own post, documenting her most recent injury. poor, sweet, pitiful meggy-moo…
